Crocheted hanging towel

I have had friend make me towels to hang which they just did the tops, but I found several patterns to crochet online and tried one(this is not true to the pattern because I just couldn't figure the pattern out, but I am ok with this).

    I LOVE this as kitchen decor --Beautiful! I can't help but wonder, though, how it would work adhered or sewn to a plain dollar store kitchen towel... Ya know, that terry-clothish absorbency with that added layer between it and the crochet from the front of the cheap towel... I absolutely LOVE yours, but I wouldn't wipe a drip of water with it. LOL. Too pretty for that!
